Choosing Your Curly Wig — What to Look For
Curl pattern — Jerry curl gives tight, defined coils with a springy bounce. Styled Curls are pre-formed with a glamorous, rounded volume. Standard Curly gives natural curl texture with soft definition. Water wave gives a soft wet-look finish with flowing movement.
Length — Curly wigs are measured at the length of the stretched hair. A 14 inch curly wig will sit noticeably shorter when curls contract. Factor this in when choosing your length.
Draw level — Double drawn and super double drawn curly wigs are significantly fuller from root to tip — particularly noticeable in curl textures where volume is part of the look.

How do I maintain a curly wig?
Wash with a sulphate-free shampoo and follow with a moisturising conditioner. Apply a leave-in conditioner or curl refresher to reactivate the curl pattern after washing. Store the wig on a stand or in its original net to prevent tangling. Avoid sleeping in the wig without a satin cap or bonnet — friction is the main cause of frizz and curl disruption in human hair wigs.
Can I straighten a curly wig?
Yes — 100% pure human hair curly wigs can be straightened with a flat iron. However, once straightened, the original curl pattern will not return without re-perming or using a curling tool to re-form the curls. If you want to maintain the curl pattern long-term, avoid flat-ironing the unit directly.
Does the length I see refer to stretched or natural length?
Wig lengths are measured on the stretched (straightened) hair. A curly wig’s resting length when curls are contracted will be noticeably shorter than the listed length. A 16 inch curly wig may rest at around 12–13 inches due to curl contraction. If you want the wig to sit at a specific length, size up slightly to account for this.
